Job Description

Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine, University of Latvia (UL Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine) is seeking for a Horizon Europe 2026 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Activities (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship (PF) candidate in the field of volatile breath marker technology advancement for cancer detection.

New technology has been developed within BRAVO project (labmedtech.org) by combining gas chromatography (GC) to gas metal-oxide sensors (MOX) – GC-MOX. Post-doctorial fellow is expected to lead the evaluation process of the technology in volunteers and patients.

The candidate should have a recent PhD degree related to volatile marker research, be capable to design, run a study, and analyse the study results as well as publish the acquired results. Previous experience in intellectual property protection and start-up business would be an advantage.

The application should be prepared together with our team and submitted for the MSCA PF call that is currently open (HORIZON-MSCA-2026-PF-01, MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 | Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions).  The deadline for the submission is September 9, 2026.  Results will be announced in February 2027, and the first PF projects will start on May 2027. In the case if the application will be well-scored, but not funded under the MSCA program, a possibility may exist to have it refunded from the Structural Funds in Latvia.
