SUMMARY:IMTeC 2010; First European Conference on Micro-Analysis
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition Forum LABO & BIOTECH hosts this year \n\n\n\nthe first European Congress on Micro-Technologies: IMTeC.\n\n\n\nForum LABO & BIOTECH will take place from 1 to June 4\, 2010 in Paris. IMTeC: 2nd and 3rd June. \n\n\n\nFor the 2010’ edition\, the Interprofessional Committee of Laboratory Suppliers – /Comité Interprofessionnel des Fournisseurs du Laboratoir/\, CIFL\, the owner of this event\, has decided to expand the supply of goods and services sector to the process sector in order to meet the changing demand within the profession\, always seeking new ways and solutions to gain speed and productivity. \n\n\n\nThis opening allows at Forum LABO & BIOTECH cover all applications\, from RESEARCH to ONLINE ANALYSIS via the CONTROL\, to attract discerning visitors\, both public and private sector and industry. \n\n\n\nForum LABO & BIOTECH present in this complete offer:\n\n\n\n8000 sqm *exhibitionnearly *300 exhibitors*\,4 exhibition areas: the physico-chemical\, biotechnology\, Process Analytics\, and sustainable development. and nearly 10\,000 visitors (9\,800 in 2008). The file is given to visitors after the show\, IMTEC Congress: First European Conference on Micro-analysis expert forums\, moderated by renowned experts. 2010’ themes on sustainable development (topics selected by a panel of visitors of the latest edition 2008)\, and a communications plan important in leading journals.\n\n\n\nAbout IMTeC 2010:\n\n\n\nProcess Analytical Technology (PAT) has provided value to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries for years in improving productivity and quality by gathering data to develop and monitor processes. PAT has been the enabling tool to implement Quality by Design (QbD) as a way to achieve Process Understanding. Recent advances in analytical and sampling technology have continued to improve measurement capabilities. \n\n\n\nNew technology for micro-machining\, along with new material development\, has allowed for advances in the miniaturization of instrumentation and sampling systems. A good example of this is in the development of the New Sensor and Sampling System (NeSSI)\, growing out of the forum created by the Center for Process Analytical Chemistry (CPAC) in the USA. This has enabled developments in operational devices such as micro-reaction equipment for process optimization and new micro-analytical tools for characterizing process samples. \n\n\n\nIMTeC will be a venue to describe to European companies the use of NeSSI and related analytical devices as valuable tools to consider in achieving the ultimate goal of Process Understanding\, the key to achieving improved productivity and quality in products via effective implementation of process control. \n\n\n\nIMTeC will cover:\n\n\n\nMicro Technology and the LaboratoryAnalyzer sampling system\, components\, and diagnosticNeSSI componentsProcess Automation Technology\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nDownload the program

SUMMARY:International Workshop on Dynamical Olfaction\, 30 June - 2 July\, 2010\, Brighton\, UK
DESCRIPTION:First call for Abstracts\, International Workshop on Dynamical Olfaction\, 30 June – 2 July\, 2010\, Brighton\, UK \n\n\n\nAnimals are able to experience complexly structured plumes of different combinations of chemicals as individual olfactory percepts. It appears that the olfactory system utilizes rich temporal dynamics to achieve this goal but exactly how is still an open challenge for modern neuroscience. In the last few years rapid progress has been made in our understanding of olfactory information processing. In this focused workshop on Dynamical Olfaction we will share recent developments\, both experimental and theoretical\, between the active researchers in the field. \n\n\n\nConfirmed keynote speakers include: \n\n\n\nMaxim Bazhenov\, University of California Riverside\, USAC. Giovanni Galizia\, University of Konstanz\, GermanyHong Lei\, The University of Arizona\, USAJohannes Reisert\, Monell Chemical Senses Center\, USAMark Stopfer\, National Institutes of Health\, USAMassimo Vergassola\, Institut Pasteur\, Paris\, France\n\n\n\nThe programme committee is formed by \n\n\n\nJean-Pierre Rospars\, INRA VersaillesDominique Martiney\, LORIA Nancy & INRA VersaillesThomas Nowotny\, University of SussexSylvia Anton\, INRA Versailles\n\n\n\nThe workshop is financed by the BBSRC in the framework of the PheroSys project\, part of the ANR-BBSRC SysBio initiative. Registration IS FREE OF CHARGE but mandatory for our planning. \n\n\n\nImportant Dates: \n\n\n\nFirst call for abstracts (this call)February 12\, 2010Registration opensMarch 15\, 2010Deadline for abstract submissionsApril 15\, 2010Abstract acceptance notificationsApril 30\, 2010The workshop startsJune 30\, 2010\n\n\n\nParticipation is limited to 100 participants. Contributors will have preferential treatment over other participants. \n\n\n\nTo submit an abstract\, direct your browser tohttp://www.informatics.sussex.ac.uk/cgi-bin/users/tn41/signupPhero2010/abstract \n\n\n\nFurther information is available and will be updated regularly on the workshop websitehttp://www.informatics.sussex.ac.uk/users/tn41/PheroSys2010/index.html \n\n\n\nIf you have additional questions\, please contact the local organiser\, Chris Buckley at C.L.Buckley@sussex.ac.uk .
