SUMMARY:Monitoring Ambient Air 2014
DESCRIPTION:Air Quality in Europe – New ChallengesConference with Posters & Exhibition\n\n\n\nDecember 9-10\, 2014\, London\, UK\n\n\n\nIn several European countries\, air quality made headline news this year in a way that has not been seen for decades. While the regulation of emissions\, and our understanding of the sources and mechanisms involved in air quality move forwards\, the overall situation may not\, as control in some areas is counterbalanced by uncontrolled developments in others. Following last year’s successful liaison with Defra’s Air Quality Expert Group\, there will be overview presentations on topics currently being reviewed by that group. They concern pollution sources that are either relatively new\, or that have not received the attention that they merit: shipping\, biomass burning and shale gas extraction (often called “fracking”)\, and also an assessment of the evidence for photocatalytic paints as a means to reduce NOx concentrations. In addition\, there will be an update on the EU funded CARBOTRAF project and a session focused on black carbon and other air pollution emissions from traffic. The meeting will also include a session on advances in air quality measurement; an on-going theme of this conference series. \n\n\n\nOrganised by the Automation and Analytical Management Group – Royal Society of Chemistry \n\n\n\nFor more information please go to: aamg-rsc.org \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nCheck the agenda and further information

DESCRIPTION:17th International Symposium on Olfaction and Electronic Nose\n\n\n\n28 – 31 May 2017 – Montreal\, Canada\n\n\n\nISOEN 2017:\n\n\n\nThe International Symposium on Olfaction and Electronic Nose (ISOEN) is the world’s premiere technical conference in artificial chemoreception (olfaction and taste). ISOEN 2017 provides a forum for scientists\, engineers and practitioners to share their latest findings\, innovations and products in the area of artificial chemoreception. \n\n\n\nMontreal:\n\n\n\nISOEN 2017 will be held at McGill University\, in the heart of Montreal (Canada) and steps away from the downtown business core\, numerous art galleries\, restaurants and the metro system. Known as one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world\, Montreal offers a variety of cultural events\, from music and art to fashion; culinary experiences\, from fine-dining to street food; and outdoor attractions\, from strolling along cobblestone streets to bike rides through acres of parks. \n\n\n\nTopics of interest:\n\n\n\nISOEN emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches addressing all aspects of odor and taste measurement\, from basic theory to applications.  Topics of interest include but are not limited to: \n\n\n\nOdor sampling: headspace analysis\, dynamic sampling\, pre-concentration and storageChemical sensors: gas\, biosensors\, ion-selective\, opticalSensor systems: electronic noses\, electronic tongues\, micro-spectrometersData analysis: signal processing\, pattern recognition\, chemometricsIndustrial applications: quality control\, food safety\, medical diagnostics\, environmental monitoringOdor generation: olfactometry\, olfactory displaysBio-engineering: cell-based olfactory sensors\, bio-inspired algorithms\n\n\n\nNow in its 17th edition\, ISOEN 2017 will be organized around the theme of ubiquitous sensing with mobile\, wearable\, and distributed chemosensors.  In particular\, we welcome contributions in the following areas: \n\n\n\nCrowd sensing with consumer-grade instrumentsWearable sensors for exposure monitoringAutonomous sensing with aerial\, ground and underwater robotsAlgorithms for distributed chemical sensing\n\n\n\nTutorial and special session proposals:\n\n\n\nTutorials will be held on May 28\, 2017. Tutorial proposals must include title\, contact and biosketch for the presenter(s)\, and a description of the tutorial. Special session proposals must include a topical title\, rationale\, session outline\, contact information\, and a list of invited speakers. Additional information can be found at the ISOEN 2017 website. \n\n\n\nSubmission of papers:\n\n\n\nProspective authors are invited to submit full-length papers\, with up to three pages (double column) for technical content including figures and possible references. Presented papers will be included in the proceedings of ISOEN 2017 and in IEEE Xplore –pending formatting requirements being met. \n\n\n\nPaper presentation and conference registration :\n\n\n\nEach paper must be covered by at least one of its co-authors with a full registration. Participants with a full registration can cover a maximum of two (2) papers. Detailed information will be posted on the conference registration page. \n\n\n\nImportant deadlines:\n\n\n\nSpecial session & tutorial proposals 6 November 2016Notification of special session & tutorial acceptance4 December 2016Submission of regular papers15 January 2017Notification of paper acceptance15 March 2017Author registration20 March 2017Camera ready uploads28 March 2017\n\n\n\nExhibition and demo opportunities:\n\n\n\nThe Conference exhibit area will provide your company or organization with the opportunity to inform and display your latest products\, services\, equipment\, books\, journals\, and publications to attendees from around the world.
