SUMMARY:Breath Analysis for Biomedicine and National Security: Sensor Design Issues and Strategies for Biomarker Discovery
DESCRIPTION:As human breath analysis further develops as a multi-disciplinary field\, it is clear that sensor development\, instrumentation systems and algorithms play critical roles within this research area. \n\n\n\nAlthough much emphasis in the last decade has focused on breath biomarker compound identification and physiological relevance\, we increasingly turn our attention towards portable\, fieldable sensor platforms for non-invasive breath monitoring. \n\n\n\nThe mission of this workshop is to assemble a group of leading experts in this field to discuss their own research\, debate trends and future directions of the field\, and contemplate areas of research that deserve special attention in the field moving forward. \n\n\n\nOrganizers: Prof. Cristina Davis\, Dr. Michael Epton\, Prof. Nicholas Kenyon\, Dr. Matthias Frank\, Dr. Amy Gryshuk \n\n\n\nRegistration deadline: 17 August 2012 \n\n\n\nMore information at the conference webpage: http://breathanalysis.ucdavis.edu/index.html

SUMMARY:Nanosensor Technologies for Monitoring - materials and methods
DESCRIPTION:Conference with Posters and Exhibition organised by the Automation and Analytical Management Group – Royal Society of Chemistry\n\n\n\nThis is the fourth annual AAMG conference on monitoring and analysis using sensor technologies. The conference follows the same format as in preceding years with presentations by invited speakers; however\, the majority of papers and posters are presented by young researchers. The conference addresses the health effects of nanoparticles; the preparation of nanoparticle sensor technologies and systems\, and examines the design and application of early research and commercial sensors for (bio)medical\, industrial and environmental processes. The conference will also include an exhibition and poster presentations. The interest and use of Nanosensing techniques in biomedical and environmental monitoring has grown rapidly in recent years enhanced by the potential for automation and remote at site measurements with low cost methodologies and miniature instrumentation. This Conference offers a good opportunity to bring together scientists involved in this field to exchange experiences and thoughts about the new applications and novel types of sensors. \n\n\n\nScientific Committee\n\n\n\nDr R.Narayanaswamy\, Professor Krishna Persaud\, Dr Chris Walton\, Dr Paul Quincey\, Dr Alan Braithwaite\, Dr Craig Roxburgh\, Dr Mark Baron and Dr Martha Buitenkamp \n\n\n\nFor further Information go to: http://aamg-rsc.org/2012/06/sensors-2012/ \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nDownload the program
